FIRE RETARDANT COATING
STRENGTH AND RELIABILITY

INFLEX® is a unique PU-based compound which is designed and serially produced to provide fire resistance of metal load-carrying structures. The material protects the structures not only against standard cellulose fire, but it also provides for their fire resistance in the real event of hydrocarbons – oil and oil products fire.

 For structural protection against standard fire:
 
• INFLEX®-FO-11 (FV-11) coatings are intumescent 1-component thin-layer compounds
 
For protection against hydrocarbon fire:
 
• INFLEX®-FA-21 is a 2-component weather-resistant intumescent compound
 
For protection of metal structures with the effective metal thickness ≥ 5,8 :
 
• INFLEX®-FV-11K (FA-21K) is a structural fire protection system.

Unlike epoxy-based compounds, INFLEX® is a PU-based material which provides for the highest level of flexibility, together with the required fire-proof efficiency, resistance to aggressive environments and extremely low temperatures.  

Flexibility of INFLEX® coating provides for its integrity not only on installed metalwork on site, including temperatures lower than 55°С, but also on modular structures produced on metalwork factories, during their transportation and handling operations. 

The life time of INFLEX® is over 15 years and can be applied in open air conditions with the temperature down to minus 60°С. The specimens with the coating thickness from 1 to 21 mm were tested under exposure of UV, high temperature steam, sulphurous oxide, sea water sprinkling, -60°С and +50°С temperatures. The report with the result of conducted accelerated climatic tests confirmed that the life time of Inflex fire-retardant coating is at least 15 years under exposure of moderate and cold climate and aggressive environments.

To verify the maintenance of the main function of the fire-retardant coating throughout the whole operation time, i.e. provision of fire resistance of metalwork, after climatic test the fire tests were successfully completed to check the fire efficiency of  INFLEX® compound.

The coating is successfully operated at the facilities under extremely low temperatures in such towns as Usinsk, Novy Urengoy, Surgut, where the average daily air temperature goes down to minus 55°С, which is confirmed by the official letter from Gazprom Pererabotka Ltd. regarding the coating durability during operation in open air conditions without any top coat at Surgut Condensate Stabilization Plant. 

To verify that INFLEX® fire-retardant compound can be used in various conditions it was tested to check the seismic resistance and chemical resistance to industrial pollutants.


APPLICATION

INFLEX®-FO-11 is a system which constitutes a finely dispersed mixture of fire-retardant components and rheological additives in the organic solvent enhancing the structural fire rating to R120.
INFLEX®-FV-11 is a water-based fire-retardant compound, used to enhance fire ratings of indoor load-carrying metal structures.
Within the framework of foreign product replacement program INFLEX®-FA-21 fire-retardant compound was tested, certified and launched in serial production, intended to protect metal structures against exposure of hydrocarbon fire of gas, oil and oil products.

TESTS

INFLEX®-FA-21 coating was successfully tested according to the approved Program of Fireproof Efficiency Determination in hydrocarbon fire conditions (GOST R EN 1363-2014) and the certificate was issued with the results of conducted tests for various fire ratings of structures depending on the effective metal thickness.
